Worship in Heaven (7.9–12)

After these things I saw, and see, an enormous crowd—which no one can number—from every nation and tribes and peoples and languages, standing in front of the throne and in front of the lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. And they were yelling in a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation to our god, the one sitting on the throne, and to the lamb.’

And all the angels stood around the throne, and the elders and the four animals fell in front of the throne on their faces and worshiped God, saying, ‘Amen. Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength to our god for ever and ever. Amen.’

The expanding doxology from chapter 5 returns.

23.40 On the first day you shall take the fruit of majestic trees, branches of palm trees, boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before Yhwh your god for seven days.

1 Maccabees

13.51 On the twenty-third day of the second month, in the one hundred and seventy-first year, the Judeans entered it with praise and palm branches, and with harps and cymbals and stringed instruments, and with hymns and songs, because a great enemy had been crushed and removed from Israel.

12.13 So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him
